13-28th February

On the 13 of February I created the title sequence for the documentary on live type. This had gone well however because there was not much time Left I had to go along with it.

The next day during another working session I sourced more achieve footage that could be used towards the end of the documentary and found one of a swishing event tacking place. I crop this and added it to my documentary.

On the 15th I planned to record the voice over for the focus group however because of the noise levels in the class this was impossible. Instead during this time I worked on perfecting the documentary. The following day I recorded the voice over and this was perfect after 3 tries. I then uploaded this to the final edit.  Form the 16th- 28th I worked on purring all the footage together and perfecting the final documentary

1st – 10th February

On the 1st of February I showcased my rough edit to the target audience to get their review. This went well as I got useful tips on what they thought was needed and this allowed me to see what it was I had to work on. From this feedback I then planned how I was going to use my time and added this to my production schedule. The main aspect I had to ensure was done had to be the focus group

and so I contacted my friends who were unfortunately not available to re-film however I managed to contact another group of friends who were also planning their own swishing event. I ran them through what it was I wanted to achieve and they were happy to help. On the 8th the re-shoot took place at lavish habit. This is a café that is situated only 5 minutes from the school so it was easy for everyone to get to. When reaching the location the manager was very nice and had given us a space to film. The only problem I had when filming was the sound as it was difficult to hear what the girls were saying over the music. Apart from that it was a success. Following the focus group I interview Jane the swishing teenager to ask her a few question is had also gone well as it was a nice day and the location was great. The following two day I had uploaded and edited this footage when doing so I had to revise what it was I had to do to get the voice levels up and do asked the same friends to do voice over.

This partially worked however it was difficult to get the voice and footage to sink together. I then decided to just have a voice over narrative explain what’s happening. This was not the best option however worked in my favour as it generally looked good.

16th – 30th January

On the 16 of January I recorded the voiceover of the introduction and conclusion of the documentary this had gone well as the sound levels and overall voice was good however I had to do many takes to get it perfect. I added this to the footage and the introduction was completed. On the 18th of January I planned to go and film cutaways that I could use thought the interview and at the end of the documentary however this was not possible as it was raining continuously the whole day during this time I had went over the footage that I filmed on the 6th of the global action plan and edited this. On the 19th of January I filmed the cutaways footage of the closet swap website this was straightforward however it was important that I used the correct camera and angle so it looked aesthetically pleasing.

Following this on during the weekend I had written up the script to go over the cutaway footage of the closet swap website an on Monday the 23rd recoded this and uploaded the cutaway footage on final cut along with the voice over and added this to the final edit. On the 26 of January I planned to go and film the focus group. Before doing this I had to ensure that I had planned what it was I wanted to achieve and so had written up a structure to give to the girls so that they could see what it was I was going to be filming. I then later on that evening went along with them to café Nero to film. When getting to location the lighting didn’t seem much of an issue and the shots I managed to achieve were of good quality. I uploaded this footage on the 27th of January however there was a fault due to error’s on the Mac and so I had to wait for this to be corrected which had taken the whole working session. On the 30th of January I reviewed the footage and noticed that the quality once uploaded was very poor quality and in some shots you could see the microphone this meant that I had to plan another time for a re-soot however I continued to edit and uploaded this to the documentary so that I could get audience feedback on my rough edit so far.

2nd – 12th January

2nd – 12th January On the 2nd of January I contacted care at Avenda this is because I wanted to ask if she wouldn’t mind being on camera and doing an interview with me regarding swishing. This was not possible as she was busy and so on the 5th January I was not able to interview her. On the 8th of January I went with Jane a crew member and actor to go and film relevant cutaways for my introduction at South side shopping centre. When arriving to shoot the first couple of shop signs were perfect and we managed to get some nice shots but then we were approached by the manager who said that we would not be able to film without head office permission and so we had to stop filming however before leaving tried our luck at tkmaxx to ask if it was possible to film the outside shop sign and inside of the model Jane trying on cloths lucky they agreed and the day was a success as I managed to get some excellent shots. During the following week form the 9th of January I uploaded footage and sourced relevant music and archive footage. I then by the end of the week managed to put what I had in order.

December 1st- 17th

On the 1st of December I contacted Rachel willow to arrange an interview and permission to film at the global action plan, this had went to plan as I was granted permission, on the 6th of December I filmed the global action plant however there were many difficulties I had to face one of which being that when getting to location the camera I had taken with me did not work. There was no chance for me to come back to school and collect another camera as time was limited and so I had to use second best, my camera man Sarim Ali had brought along with him a dlsr camera which was able to record footage and so we used it to film, this had meant that I would not be able to use the microphone however I asked Rachel if she wouldn’t mind speaking loudly and it turned out to be successful. On the 7th- 8th of December I was going to upload the footage I had however because I had to finish preparing the pre-production paper work this was not possible at the time. On the 12th of December I had planned to script the introduction and conclusion however this once again did happen as I needed more detailed information about swishing. On this day I also wanted to upload the footage I had taken of the global action plan swishing event however the footage was with Sarim Ali the camera man and he had went abroad over the weekend and was not coming back until after the Christmas break. I then had to re-plan what I had to do. On the 14th of December I spent my session drawing the story board so that it was clear what I needed to do. This went to plan however was not completed.
